Case Studies
Development Lab Deployment
For Peakstream, neoTactics deployed and maintains a lab of 25+ computation nodes in a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster. The cluster is controlled by the open source queuing system OpenPBS. Storage is provided across the cluster using a NetApp filer and the Linux automounter. neoTactics leveraged RedHat’s Kickstart technology to allow for rapid and repeatable deployment of cluster nodes. The cluster is composed of a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit Linux systems.
Appliance Re-Design
For NetEnrich, neoTactics re-designed a pre-existing appliance to support high-availability (HA) clustering & failover in an active/passive model. This was done leveraging open source technologies. The design process also included specifying an administrative management UI, and improvements to the appliance design to allow easy disaster recovery and in-the-field cluster node replacements.
Spam Trap Cluster Deployment
neoTactics currently assists in deploying and managing a 25+ node cluster designed to capture and process large amounts of spam for Support Intelligence’s core product and service. The cluster is based on Debian Linux and uses LVS for load balancing.
On-demand Malware Analysis Testbed
We created an on-demand set of custom Amazon EC2 AMI images for performing controlled infections and malware analysis on Windows XP operating system virtual machines.
